>> At ComEd, we are committed to helping you manage your energy and save money. That’s why we offer Central AC Cycling, a program that cycles your central air conditioner during the hottest days of summer when electricity is in most demand. This money saving program allows you to earn up to forty dollars in credits on your bill each year and is available to customers who own a home with central air conditioning. Once enrolled, ComEd will install a Direct Load Control Switch at your home that allows us to cycle your AC compressor for you, typically on the hottest days of the Summer. While the compressor cycles off, your fan stays on to circulate air, keeping your home comfortable while reducing your carbon footprint and helping you save money. We will try to notify you prior to cycling your air conditioner, but please note, there may be circumstances, such as a sudden spike in energy demand, that may not provide us enough time to call. You can choose between two participation options, a fifty percent level or one hundred percent level. At the fifty percent level, air conditioning is controlled in increments of 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off, for up to 12 hours during an AC Cycling event. With this option, you can earn up to twenty dollars in bill credits each year. At the one hundred percent level, air conditioning is fully controlled as needed for up to 12 hours during an AC Cycling event. At this level, you can earn up to forty dollars in bill credits each year.
