Powering Superdawg with new LED Lighting

Case Study

Superdawg, a fast-food institution on Chicago’s North Side, was able to reduce its energy use by more than 100,000 kWh per year by undertaking a project with the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program. The historic restaurant upgraded its outdoor and indoor lighting fixtures to high-efficiency LED bulbs and fixtures, which reduced the location’s energy use by over 20% in the first month.

Owner Scott Berman worked closely with an Energy Efficiency Service Provider during the project, as it was important to him that Superdawg retain its iconic look. “It was a perfect, collaborative effort”, remarked Berman. “We got what we wanted; to be exactly like we were before, only nicer.”
