Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) can account for about 30% of a building's annual energy usage. ComEd offers opportunities for commercial customers to cost-effectively improve their HVAC systems and save money on energy bills.
With a nominal payback period and ComEd® Energy Efficiency Program offerings to fund your project’s completion, any time of the year is the right time to upgrade your HVAC system. ComEd offers incentives for a number of HVAC system component upgrades; which include but are not limited to: water and air-cooled chillers, air-side economizers and demand-controlled ventilation.
Also consider adding a variable speed drive (VSD) to fans, pumps and motors. VSDs can match HVAC to demand – translating to lower energy and maintenance costs and reduced stress on parts. Implement an energy management system (EMS) and apply several controls that work in tandem to optimize your HVAC system’s performance.
